I watched the tears fall from Isabel's eyes and she said, "sorry". That was it! I'm glad the car was stopped because the tears that I couldn't find had found me. She held me as I sobbed, snot bubbles and all, it was everything coming out all at once. I tried to stop and I think and that just made things worse, I stepped out of the car into the cold rain. I could still see my father's body lying outside and my mother slumped in a pool of blood inside her mangled house that she had keep so meticulously clean for as long as I can remember. I fell to the ground cried in the rain for what seemed an eternity. Then something my grand mother said to me when I was little popped into my head.
"Crying don't fix nothing son. The more you cry the less you pee is all, so stop crying and get to gettin."
Sheepishly with his head down and eyes never leaving his feet, Felix replied “Ma’am, she was in one of those college lab freezers we were analyzing and she was poor, but-“
“Oh, I see. You’ve been diving in the genetic dumpster again, still trying to build something for yourself is it? Let’s see what we have then, build her. Cut her into the prototype production line immediately. And Felix, why are you testing my patience? Do remember, that I am the only one that can’t be replaced.”
